Last week tragedy struck a family in Vaughan. Three children – Daniel (9), Harrison (5), and Millie (2) were killed along with their grandfather, Gary, by an alleged drunk driver. The loss is of overwhelming proportions. The bereft parents are likely trying to cope as best they can by remembering all the happy occasions they enjoyed as a family. It is to be deeply desired, that this horror may result in the surviving members being drawn even closer to each other in peace and love.
Let us pray.
“O God, whose beloved Son took children into his arms and blessed them, give the family grace to entrust these children to your never-failing love, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen.”
“Most merciful God, whose wisdom is beyond our understanding, deal graciously with this family in their grief. Surround them with your love, that they not be overwhelmed by their loss, but have confidence in your goodness and strength to meet the the days to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
“We pray that nothing good in Gary’s life will be lost, but will be of benefit to all; that all that was important to him will be respected by those who follow; and that everything in which he was great will continue to mean much to his friends and family now that he has passed. We ask this in the name of the risen Lord. Amen.”
